Changes to the 2020 WorldSBK calendar due to ongoing (COVID-19) outbreak

13/03/20

Due to the ongoing outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) the following amendments to the 2020 WorldSBK calendar are as followed; Round 3 at the Circuito De Jerez previously held on the 27th – 29th March has now been rescheduled as Round 13 (23rd – 25th October). The Pirelli French Round previously 25th – 27th September now rescheduled to the 2nd – 4th October, 1 week later to avoid clashes with the newly published MotoGP™ calendar.

The next scheduled round for the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team is due to be held at the TT Assen Circuit, Holland (17th – 19th April). The BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team will head into the new amended Round 3 with Tom Sykes currently 10th in the standings with 17 points, teammate Eugene Laverty in 15th with 5 points having missed out on the final race due to concussion sustained in Sunday’s warm up session.

The FIM and Dorna WSBK Organization is working extensively with Circuits and Government Officials following up the situation in each country and will inform accordingly in due course if there are further changes to the 2020 Calendar.
